She has completed her MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 1963, MS - General Surgery from Aiims in 1966, FRCS from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSE) and U.K in 1970. She carries her medicinal practice at Apollo Hospital Delhi in Sarita Vihar(Delhi) and The Neurology Clinic - Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Jasola(Delhi). She is a respected member of Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Indian Society of Oncology (ISO) and Indian Menopause Society (IMS).
